Turn off WhatsApp two-step verification

Cloud API numbers use a six-digit two-step PIN. Migrations and some re-registrations stop until that PIN is entered or turned off in WhatsApp Manager. The phone app’s registration lock is a different screen.

Turn it off

  1. Open WhatsApp Manager with an admin of the Meta business.
  2. Select the WhatsApp account, then Phone numbers.
  3. Open the number you are moving.
  4. Open Two-step verification and choose Turn off.
  5. Enter the current six-digit PIN and confirm.

Do this only when a migration is scheduled. Leaving the PIN off for a long time is weaker protection. After Best SMS Bulk finishes registration, set a new PIN and store it with the people who admin the Meta business.

If nobody remembers the PIN

WhatsApp Manager includes a PIN reset. Meta applies a waiting period before the number can be registered again. Do not create a second WhatsApp account to skip the wait, and do not delete the phone number from the account unless we ask you to. Send us the exact error from the registration screen if the reset button is missing.

FAQ

Is this the same as two-step verification on the phone app?

Same idea, different place. For an API number, change it in WhatsApp Manager. The consumer app’s settings screen does not manage a Cloud API PIN.

Can Best SMS Bulk see my PIN?

No. You enter it in Meta’s screen, or you turn verification off yourself before we register the number.
